Harvest Assembly

On Friday morning we had a visit from Pastor Kevin who came in to talk to the children about Harvest. The children loved dancing to his songs and enjoyed making animals sounds too. We learned about giving thanks for the things we have. It was so much fun.

Thank you for coming to visit us Pastor Kevin! We hope you will visit us again in the future.

Diwali!

The children in Reception have loved learning about the Hindu celebration of Diwali as part of our Literacy Labs and Expedition lessons. The children have been able to use new vocabulary and talk about the meaning of the words. Here are some photographs of the work the children produced Rangoli patterns, Diwali cards, Diwa lamps and decorated the role play area for Diwali. They even set up their own Diwali party and invited their friends to join them. We have had lots of fun!

Fire Safety

Last week we were very lucky to have had Fireman James from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue visit the children to talk about fire safety and how to keep safe on Bonfire Night.

The children thoroughly enjoyed his visit and loved seeing the uniform he wears.

Thank you for coming to see us Fireman James!

F2 Family Learning

On Wednesday 10th November Parents/carers are invited to join their children from 1.30-2.30 for Family Learning.

This will give you the opportunity to join in with the children’s Expedition learning taking part in craft activities.

Please arrive at the hall doors at 1.30 if you are joining us for family learning so we can sign you in.

Once family learning has finished you may take your child home or they can stay for the remainder of their session.

We hope you can all join us

Super Maths

This week we have been working on securing number bonds to 5. We played a game where we started with a number of objects, then the children closed their eyes really tight. I hid some of the objects under the cushion and they had to tell me how many were missing. Then they could pick up the cushion to see if they were correct. The children loved this game.

Indian dancing

As part of our Expedition Learning we had an Indian dance workshop today in Reception! It was amazing!! The children were very enthusiastic, attentive and we all had so much fun! Hopefully they will share with you all some of the dance moves that we learned.

Well done everyone!

Superstars

Today myself and Mrs Wallace were blown away by the work produced by these 4 children in our Literacy labs session. The writing inside their birthday cards was wonderful! We decided they should visit Mrs Salter’s office to show her their work. They were thrilled to receive a special sticker and a postcard too!

These children have not only impressed us today. They have impressed us in all of their lessons by working hard and producing their most beautiful work. What wonderful role models they are to their peers! Well done Ava, Arnie, Reuben and Martha. We are super proud of you!
