We really enjoyed our Christmas Dinner today. Thanks to Natalie and her team for making it so special.
Class 9 enjoyed an arty afternoon painting the winning designs onto our Roman shields and making a Roman helmet.
Thank you to everybody for a fun Friday afternoon!
We can’t wait to display our shields in the classroom.
All year long our children have been working alongside Roots of Empathy Instructors, class teachers and babies to develop their own empathy skills. Today a group of 8 children, representing the school, visited the Keep Moat Stadium to celebrate a great year.
A big thank you to all the parent’s, carers, family and friends who came to the Year 3 and 4 Pop-Up Chocolate Shop at school today. It was wonderful to have so much support – I hope you had the opportunity to taste your purchases!
The children have worked so hard over the last few months to design and create all aspects of the products – from the packaging production to the chocolate creation!
Well done to Kane and Megan for writing and presenting such a great introduction to the event – you both spoke with confidence and clarity in front of so many people!
Finally, a big thank you to all the staff, who have supported the children in their chocolate exploits over the last few weeks – Green Top really has resembled Willy Wonka’s factory at times – the children could not have done it without your assistance!
The hall was filled with great excitement this afternoon, as we prepared to sell our chocolate products. Much thought had gone into the design of the chocolate and the packaging and the children had really enjoyed making their chocolates and adding lots of different flavourings. We had chocolate lollies and bars and individual chocolates – all hand made! Class 8 were so pleased that we were supported by so many parents and carers and were amazed at how quickly their products were sold. Our hot chocolate proved to be very popular too! A big thank you to all who supported us this afternoon – and very well done to Class 8 from Mrs. Raper and Miss Bisby – your chocolates were amazing!
Below is the structure of learning at Green Top next year. As you will see, we welcome new teachers to Green Top; Mrs Wallace and Miss Blackham. We are also pleased to say that Miss Knowles and Miss Bisby have returned to the school after completing their Initial Teacher Training courses.
Mr Mumby, after 4 years here, has decided to move schools, due to family commitments.
Miss Schon and Mr Gravil will be joining Mrs Bembridge in providing teacher intervention for our children.
Mrs Graves has been appointed as SEN Leader and will deliver quality sessions for our SEN children.
Mrs Raper will provide support and challenge for our Newly Qualified Teachers next year.
The community of Thorne have come out today to take part in Green Top’s Picnic in the Park. The choir, cheerleaders and other talented Green Top children are all performing in Thorne Park this afternoon.
Wow! What a fabulous evening that Year 3 and the Choir had at The Dome last night for the Sing Out show 2017!
The children had such an amazing time singing alongside lots of other schools that were from in and around Doncaster. They showcased their singing voices beautifully to their families and friends, and even did some fab actions to match (we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did)!
The children really did our school proud!
Well done, and we can’t wait for next year already!!!
Class 8 really enjoyed their Family Learning this week. They had designed nets for their packaging, ready for when we have our ‘Pop-up Chocolate Shop’ next half term. We have had fantastic support from parents and carers for our Family Learning events this year and we are so very grateful to all those adults who have helped us in our activities – you have been very much appreciated – many, many thanks.
Lucas has tried so hard with his writing, producing a very persuasive advert about his new chocolate product. He used our imitate and innovate texts, together with our television adverts, to make his writing so amazing. Well done Lucas!
