Wow! What a fabulous evening that Year 3 and the Choir had at The Dome last night for the Sing Out show 2017!
The children had such an amazing time singing alongside lots of other schools that were from in and around Doncaster. They showcased their singing voices beautifully to their families and friends, and even did some fab actions to match (we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did)!
The children really did our school proud!
Well done, and we can’t wait for next year already!!!
Class 8 really enjoyed their Family Learning this week. They had designed nets for their packaging, ready for when we have our ‘Pop-up Chocolate Shop’ next half term. We have had fantastic support from parents and carers for our Family Learning events this year and we are so very grateful to all those adults who have helped us in our activities – you have been very much appreciated – many, many thanks.
Lucas has tried so hard with his writing, producing a very persuasive advert about his new chocolate product. He used our imitate and innovate texts, together with our television adverts, to make his writing so amazing. Well done Lucas!
Leah’s explanation of the stages of the Water cycle is very clear and detailed. She has used scientific language and has even added an interesting extra fact at the end. A brilliant piece of work Leah – well done!!
At the Chocolate Story museum, we learned where chocolate originated from and how the bitter chocolate nibs are turned into delicious chocolate bars. There was plenty of chocolate to test on our tour and we ended by making and decorating our own chocolate lollies!
In the afternoon, there was even more chocolate in our Charlie and the Chocolate Factory workshop, when we created edible wallpaper!
Class 8 said that it was the best trip ever – maybe it has something to do with all the chocolate!!
We hope that you are all having a fantastic Easter holiday!
Just a reminder that on Monday 24th April (the first day back at school) the children are welcome to come in to school dressed as their favourite character from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. This is part of our hook week for the new theme “Do you fancy a change?”.
Also, pretty please can the children save any wrappers/foil from their Easter eggs and confectionery (in decent condition) to support us with fully immersing the classrooms in to our new theme.
Thank you for your continued support and enjoy the rest of your holiday.
What an exciting time Year 3 are having during Arts Week. On Monday, they went outside to create paintings in the style of Jackson Pollock, which look amazing. Then on Tuesday they took part in a Martial Arts workshop, led by Invictus Academy and practised some impressive moves.
