A huge well done to all the girls who played in the match tonight. We didn’t get a win but every single player played their hearts out and I couldn’t be more proud! The girls all showed amazing team work and determination against a very talented side. The girls are so excited for their next match in two weeks time! A huge thank you to all who came and supported: parents, staff, pupils and to Mr Oldridge for being our referee!
Today Taylor had the pleasure of meeting Wayne Rooney whilst representing Doncaster Rovers v Manchester City. I hope he asked for your autograph Taylor!
Year 6 had a great day today when a Viking visited Green Top.
They learnt about Viking raids, trades, battles, weapons, what they wore and what they ate.
It was a fun day and they learnt lots of new facts.
Class 17 and I have had great fun immersing our classroom with everything Viking! Children made masks, swords and shields whilst others developed our Viking longboat with excellent detailing. I am very impressed with their efforts- it looks spectacular!
On Thursday 22nd March, we held our annual Green Top’s Got Talent event. There were 30 acts who took part in the auditions, performances and final show. We had an absolute treat of a show with various different acts including dancers, singers, boxing to music and gymnastics.
The winners were announced on the night, with Gwenyth, Megan and Emily receiving runners up awards and Tyler taking first place with his Ed Sheeran rendition.
We were overwhelmed by the confidence and attitude of everyone of our competitors and can’t wait to see what next year holds!
Thanks as always go to our judges and parents and carers for providing a great audience for the performers.
Well done guys!
Year 5/6 enjoyed participating in a range of activities for Sports Relief. These included: basketball, running, football, tennis and yoga. The children showed great determination and sportsmanship throughout and enjoyed raising awareness for Sports Relief.
Class 16 & 17 would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to both Mr ap Harri and Mrs Grundy who kindly visited our class today. We loved listening to your stories and we are inspired by your motivation and determination in your roles.
Thank you to all the parents, carers and children who attended our movie night. We had great fun sharing our films and our learning over this theme. We are very proud of the children’s confidence and ability in front of the camera as we all know how hard it can be! We have uploaded the clips for you to enjoy again!
We have relaunched our Attendance Challenge this half term rather than giving a £100 to the class with the best each term we are now giving £10 to the class with the best attendance each week (if there is a tie the matching winning classes will get £5). This has been a huge hit with the children.
So far class 3 and class 12 have won £10 to spend as they choose. Both classes are saving their money for a bigger reward. Watch the class blogs to see how they choose to spend their money!
